Ohio State Regulations
- If this is your first Ohio license, you are not required to take continuing ed classes for this next license renewal cycle. For those licensees who must receive continuing education to renew their licenses, classes can be earned from now until Jan. 31, 2009
- If you now hold an active Ohio license, you will need only eight (8) hours of continuing education, which must be earned February 01, 2007 thru January 31, 2009. You may not report the same Continuing Education numbers more than once.
- You must obtain a course completion certificate to verify attendance & receive credit for the course. These certificates contain the Board approved Continuing Education numbers which you will need to provide on your next renewal card. The Board maintains records by approved course numbers only. You must have the course number to resolve any issues relating to your CE requirements and file.
- Manicurists may take only courses dealing with manicuring.
- Hair Designers may only take courses dealing with hair-care.
- Natural Hair Stylist may only take courses dealing with hair braiding or extensions, etc.
- Estheticians may take only courses dealing with skin care.
- If you hold both active manicurist and esthetics licenses, you will be required to take eight (8) hours for each type of license.

- Hair Color Made Simple (2 hour) This course covers a complete breakdown of using color and the chemical make up of color products.
- Building Your Career - 1 hour This course is designed to give you an overview of the cosmetology industry as well as teaching you some of the fundamental theories and practices of the industry.
